 Mont Saint Michel is a small rocky island located in Manche department in South Normandy region. This place has been dedicated to saint Michel where the abbey has been build.
Mont Saint Michel and its bay are the most famous touristic site in Normandy and the second in France (after Eiffel tower in Paris) with over 3 000 000 visitors every year. The statue of saint Michel at the top of the abbey is over 550 feet above sea level. This site is part of UNESCO World Heritage since 1979..
